Charity event to help the Pearl Foundation

gyongyszemek flyerThe Pearl Foundation and Primary Art Institution works in one of the most deprived areas of Hungary, in Berettyóújfalu, to help children living in extreme poverty, aid the development of disadvantaged children to promote their integration with the Foundation’s complex program.

The Foundation’s goal is to provide creative opportunity, personal development with art training to an increasing number of children. In addition, the foundation works to further the cause of equal opportunities. What does all this mean in daily life? "Scholarship program, drug substitution, turning back on electricity meters, small garden program, excursion and camp for children, organize study circles. Furthermore provide food and school supplies, coordinate volunteer work or help to create a social web shop to sell the local women’s goods made by hand. " – said Nora L. Ritók,  Founder of the Pearl Foundation.

This year, due to decreases in financial resources, The Pearl Foundation’s operation is at risk. For this reason, the Humana Association cooperates with Bálint House and Theatre Katona József to organize a charity event to help the Pearl Foundation.

György Ali Pálos: Ahogy te akarod (As you want) documentary screening (67 minutes)

The Pearl Foundation works in one of the most deprived areas of Hungary. Children spend their afternoons there with drawing experiences, whom dream from warm home, delicious food or a vacation at Lake Balaton. The film looking for an answer to the question: are living conditions of the children reflected on the drawings? Can it be separated: the art education and social work?

What are the Pearl Foundation’s challenges during their work? Journalist Kriszta Bombera talks with Nóra L. Ritók, the Founder of Pearl Foundation. Eszter Kiss, Réka Tenki and András Ötvös, actors from Theatre Katona József, are reading short stories from Nóra L. Ritók’s book.

700 forints, supplemented by any additional donations. The organizers give the full amount of ticket sales to the Pearl Foundation.



From April 5 to 22 in the Great Hall of Bálint Ház is an exhibition from the children’s images involved in the Pearl Foundation’s program. During the exhibition there is a treasury at the information desk to place any donations to the Foundation.
